This whisky is a sister release to the “American Werewolf in Paris’ and the other half of the 200-litre bourbon which was home to both for the first 18 months. Whereas the Werewolf went to a tawny cask, this portion was moved to a 30 -year-old Fernando de Castilla Pedro Ximenez sherry barrel, re-coopered to 100 litres.
The distinctive Kinglake new-make, so well matched to the vanilla sweetness of the ex-bourbon, is overlayed with a huge richness from a super high-quality French oak fortified barrel. This release was bottled at cask strength of 61% to maintain the full flavour and luxuriant oiliness of the spirit.
Aged 18 months Ex-Bourbon, 24 months sherry.
