DISTILLER'S DIARY - 21ST APRIL 2026

We are 100% off-grid at Kinglake Distillery and for electricity we use a combination of generator and solar power.

The most important and expensive part of the solar set up is the batteries and this week we've been upgrading to lithium ion from lead acid. The increase in storage efficiency is amazing and now, even on a winter's day, as long as it's not overcast, I can often distil all day without any generator power.

There's something really satisfying about that!
