Just dropping last malt order of the year into silo bins. Had a bit of a mouse problem for the first time this year. They've even been eating through the plastic bins! 4 tonnes here which will be enough for 9 mashes. This will produce about 1500 litres of whisky to go into barrels. Also been trying to work out why I'm not getting a great yield at the moment from my fermentations. Always assumed that they were getting too hot as they generated their own heat. Actually I think it's more of a factor that they get too cold on the second evening. Yeast works best in a small temperature window. For the M!1 that we use, its between 25-32 degrees C.
